This is the website of Professor Thomas J. Vicino. I am a member of the faculty of the Department of the Political Science and the School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.

I serve as the Program Chair of the Master of Public Administration Program (MPA) at Northeastern University.

My research, teaching, and service focus on the political economy of cities and suburbs--and the related issues of metropolitan development, housing, and demographic analysis--and ultimately the public policy responses.

The Department of Political Science at Northeastern University invites applications for the position of Department Chair at the rank of full professor with tenure. Apply online here.

Prof. Thomas Vicino and Prof. Simone Elias will lead a study abroad program to Brazil in the Summer 1 2012 Session at Northeastern University. Together with a group of students, they will visit and study in Salvador. This faculty-led short-term program to Brazil, entitled "Brazil in the 21st Century" for the Summer 1 Session 2012 is part of Northeastern University's Dialogue of Civilizations Program.
